Back to Staghorn

300 people attended a "Back to Staghorn" on Easter Monday 15 April 1929 to honour
Hedley Colwell upon his retirement after 39 and half years as Head Master of the local school.
A greatly loved and respected figure, his retirement marked the end of the era when
Staghorn Flat was at its most dynamic.

Hedley is pictured with his wife Mary, seated in the armchairs presented to them on the
occasion and surrounded by community leaders and visiting dignitaries.
